ABOUT JULES

I never set out to become a teacher trainer.

I simply wanted to become a better teacher.

A woman with dark hair pulled back, wearing a black tank top and gold jewelry, sitting against a plain white background.

When I first began teaching yoga, I thought the goal was to know more - to memorize better sequences, deliver better cues, and learn every variation I could.

Over time, something shifted.

I realized the teachers who left the deepest impact weren't necessarily the ones with the most knowledge. They were the ones who knew how to truly see the people in front of them.

That realization changed not only the way I teach, but the work I feel called to do today.

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Woman studying or working at a wooden table with notebooks, a mug, and books in a cozy, well-lit room.

The path wasn't linear.

I didn't arrive here through a perfect plan.

My journey has taken me across countries, through different careers, into studio ownership, teacher trainings, photography, writing, and countless conversations with students.

Along the way, I've experienced success, disappointment, uncertainty, burnout, healing, and growth.

Every chapter changed the way I understand teaching. I stopped believing that great teachers are defined by how much they know.

Instead, I became interested in how they think.

How they observe. How they communicate.

How they create spaces where people feel safe enough to learn.

That became the foundation of everything I teach today.

What continues to shape my teaching

Curiosity

I believe good teachers continue learning long after certification.

Observation

Teaching begins by paying attention before offering solutions.

Communication

Clear language creates confident students.

Discernment

Knowing when not to intervene is just as important as knowing when to act.

Presence

People remember how they felt more than what they heard.

Humility

Every student continues teaching me something.

Beyond the yoga studio

A woman with brown hair is drinking from a mug, sunlight shining through a window illuminating her face and hair. She is wearing a gray sweatshirt.

Teaching is only one expression of who I am.

I also write, photograph, mentor, and continue studying the ways people learn, heal, and connect with one another.

Those interests continually influence the way I teach.

They remind me that education isn't confined to a classroom.

It's something we practice every day through curiosity, conversation, and paying attention.
